Parent Information Night Scheduled for Kindergarten Parents for the Upcoming 2015-2016 School Year
The Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is hosting Parent Information Night for all six elementary buildings on March 18, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Stow Munroe Falls High School auditorium. Parents of new kindergarten students (age eligibility is 5 years old by August 1st) are invited to attend this event to enjoy an evening with elementary principals, teachers and school staff. During the course of the evening, parents will have the opportunity to hear from building principals and teachers and learn how to register their child for school through the district's Central Registration Office. Afterward, building and district staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
Parents of students who are not eligible due to their age may attend this event, however, they will need to request a testing packet for early entrance to kindergarten by calling 330-689-5430 or may obtain the packet from the district website, www.smfschools.org, selecting the Parent and Enrollment links. Early entrance testing will occur in early May/June. Students not eligible for kindergarten due to age will not be able to register for kindergarten until the testing is complete and results indicate they qualify for early entrance.
SMFCSD will continue to provide the current half-day kindergarten program as well as the all-day kindergarten program for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are unsure of your current home school of attendance, please contact the transportation department at 330-689-5234.
For those families who are unable to attend, registration procedures and information will be posted on the district website beginning March 19th. We look forward to meeting our new parents during Parent Information Night at the Stow Munroe Falls High School auditorium.

We encourage parents who are able to utilize district busing to take advantage of this service, as it the safest and most convenient way for children to get home from school. However, if you do pick your child up from school at dismissal please follow the procedures outlined below:
Park your car, grab your I.D. and come into the gym through the back gym door (door opens at 3:25 p.m.)
Sign your child out at the desk inside the gym door; you may be asked to show your I.D. if the staff member does not recognize you.
Through the collaboration of the school, parents, and the community, every student will have the opportunity to engage in real and relevant learning experiences in a safe and nurturing environment in order to become life-long learners.
