Halloween Parade & Party Information

1. PARADES

  • Weather-permitting, the parade will proceed out of the building at 2:00 p.m., down the sidewalk toward Cherry Creek and move inside Cherry Creek for the residents to view the students in their costumes. Parents may line the sidewalk to view the parade, but should not walk to Cherry Creek as there will not be adequate room inside for everyone. After the parade, volunteers who signed up to help in the classrooms may reenter the building to assist with the party.
  • In the case of rain, the parade will be held inside beginning at 2:15 p.m. Visitors who are watching the parade should sign in at the front table and go to the gym. Students will parade around the perimeter of the gym, stopping briefly for pictures. Family members who are not signed up to volunteer in the classroom may exit the building after the parade is concluded.

2. PARTIES

  • Parent volunteers may proceed to classrooms at 1:30 in order to set up for the party.
  • Snacks will be arranged by the room parent(s). Due to the possibility of food allergies, please do not send in additional food treats other than what has been arranged by the room parent(s).

3. COSTUMES

  • Please send costumes which students are able to change into independently (without adult assistance) prior to the parade.
  • The following costume items are NOT permitted:

                i. Violent costumes (includes artificial blood)

               ii. Objects that can be used as weapons (real or fake spears, axes, guns, swords, knives, etc.)

               iii. Modern day horror character outfits

               iv. Masks of any kind (including full body stockings that cover a child’s face)

                v. Face paint that entirely covers a child’s face (whiskers/freckles are OK)

Updated Car Rider Dismissal Procedure

October 6 Update: In light of the upcoming cold weather, all parents will be allowed into the gym at 3:25 to pair up with their children. Parents will still need to sign each child out at the desk in the gym.

Woodland Car Rider Pick-Up:

We encourage parents who are able to utilize district busing to take advantage of this service, as it the safest and most convenient way for children to get home from school. However, if you do pick your child up from school at dismissal please follow the procedures outlined below:

  1. Park your car, grab your I.D. and come to the gym door.
  2. Sign your child out at the desk inside the gym door; you may be asked to show your I.D. if the staff member does not recognize you.
  3. Your child will be called over to leave with you.
