MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS

This course helps students master the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Students will learn many ways to complete school work more quickly by allowing the software to speed up the process. Some of the projects they will complete include formatting an MLA style report, using the reference section of Word to create a Works Cited page, using Excel formulas to calculate a home budget, including income and expenses, and utilizing advanced features of PowerPoint to create and present professional presentations.

Students have access to online textbook resources in this class.. The web site to access them is www.glencoe.com.

ACCOUNTING

This course introduces students to the world of accounting, including Debit/Credits, journalizing, posting, creating reports and analyzing financial information. New this year we are using new books and an online learning tool, www.aplia.com, to complete the problems for this course. We also use an automated software package that shows students how software such as Quick Books and Peach Tree work.
