Indian Trail Receives Top Rating from the Ohio Department of Education for  Third Consecutive Year!

Indian Trail Elementary School was recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as being Excellent with Distinction on the State Report Card for school years 2007-08 and 2008-09. During the 2006-07 school year Indian Trail earned the highest rating of Excellent from the State of Ohio. This  tradition of excellence at Indian Trail is a direct result of having a strong partnership that exists between the home and the school in making learning our #1 priority for each child, everyday. Indian Trail is Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence!

Indian Trail Elementary School is proud to be celebrating 40 years of excellence (1969-70 to 2009-10). Below you will find information on our school as we continue to educate our students and future leaders for the 21st Century:



Mission - The Indian Trail Community is committed to educating all students to the best of their abilities by creating and supporting the following:

  • Respect for self, others and the environment
  • Emphasizing peaceful and real world problem solving
  • Supporting community and parent involvement
  • Modeling life-long learning
  • Providing a safe and positive learning environment

Scholarship and Academic Achievement - Indian Trail Students have consistently scored above grade level in reading, writing and math on the third and fourth grade Ohio Achievement Tests during the past 5 years.

Student Leadership - Indian Trail has several student leadership programs that encourage and support good citizenship. These include Student Council, Safety Patrol, Art Helpers, Cafeteria Helpers, Library Helpers, Choir, Recycling Helpers, Playground Helpers, Computer Lab Helpers and Readers are Leaders Peer Helpers.

Technology Integration - Indian Trail students and staff enjoy the use technology on a daily basis to promote and support teaching and learning in the classroom and at school. 



Community Service Projects - Indian Trail Students participate each year in many community service projects to help others in need. Some of our recent projects include Relay for Life, Teddy Bears for the Troops, The Giving Tree for the Haven of Rest Homeless Shelter, Jump Rope for Heart, Good Neighbors Canned Goods Food Drive, and Pop Tabs for Children's Hospital / Dialysis Unit.



Health and Wellness - Indian Trail Students, parents and staff can participate in our winter walking club and log in their miles while travellng to many  interesting places along the way on our Fitness Wall Map of Ohio and the United States.

Parent Partnership - Did you know that our PTA volunteers log in an average of 4000 hours per year! We are thankful for our wonderful parent and community support at Indian Trail.

Preschool  - In addition to being a K-4 elementary school, Indian Trail is the home of the Stow-Munroe Fall City Schools Intergrated Preschool Program.



School Age Child Care - Indian Trail has a before and afterschool YMCA School Age Child Care Program to help support our students and their families.

Fun Fact - Did you know that Sesame Street, Monday Night Football and the Landing on The Moon also took place 40 years ago?





 

 


Character Counts at Indian Trail!

Character Counts each day at Indian Trail and we believe that learning the six Character Counts traits  are important to developing good citizens while supporting a positive teaching-learning environment and school community.

The six pillars of character are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Honesty.



New! Indian Trail's "Grab and Go" Breakfast!

Research shows that eating a healthy breakfast before coming to school increases student achievement in the classroom and at school.  As such, Indian Trail Elementary School is now offering a new "Grab and Go" Breakfast Program for all students on Mondays-Friday from 8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.  Breakfast includes milk, cereal, healthy snacks and a juice box. The cost is $1.40 for and $0.30 for students who qualify for the reduced lunch/breakfast program.
