70th Anniversary

Friday, November 20, 2009 was the Highland Family Fun Night. We celebrated our 70th anniversary with an evening packed with displays of changes through the decades from 1939 to 2009, live performances, a basket raffle, carnival games, and a memorabilia room full of school documents dating back to 1939! We hope everyone enjoyed the evening and look for more historical information to be posted throughout the year!

Third Graders are "Rockin' Through Nature"

( Miss McIntyre, Mrs. McGovern, Mrs. Rahde, Mrs. TImberlake, Miss Borrelli)

Several Highland staff members were recently invited to attend the Ohio School Boards Association State Conference in Columbus, Ohio. They shared an intergrated field trip that they developed combining science, social studies, art, and music instruction. The field trip takes place at the Gorge Park in Cuyahoga Falls and is possible through support of many parent chaperones, the Highland PTA, the park service, staff members, and a special guest, the "Rock Guy", who provides lessons on fossils, rocks, and minerals.

Congratulations for being recognized for this innovative field trip!

Academic Content Standards
