Study Island

Currently all students have a Study Island account that they have used during the year. These accounts will stay active throughout the summer for them to use.

In order for them to work on their skills over the summer they will need a user name and password. Their password is “stow” and their username is their last name followed by the last four digits of their student ID number, which can be found at the top of their report card.

In order to take advantage of Study Island please go to www.studyisland.com and sign in on the left hand side.

We would encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity!

70th Anniversary

70 Years of Academics and Community!

This year we celebrated our 70th anniversary making Highland the oldest school in Stow and Munroe Falls. We are proud of our continued focus on student development and providing the best education to the children of our community.

Pint Size Hero Update

It’s official: not only did the Stow_Munroe Falls School District host the fourth largest children’s sponsored blood drive, the Stow-Munroe Falls Schools is the 2009-10 sixth largest fully-participating School District in Northern Ohio. There were over 212 Districts holding 270 Pint Size Heroes blood drives in over 400 participating schools (these numbers do not include high school participation, which only increases your District’s life-saving accomplishment). Being amongst the Top 12 Northern Ohio Pint Size blood drive program School Districts is quite an accomplishment.

Academic Content Standards

Parents: Want to know what students should know and be able to do by the end of each grade? Go to the Ohio Dept. of Education's website and search for the  Ohio Academic Standards. This site will give you an overview of the standards as well as provide tools you can use to check what your child is learning at each grade and to know what to expect each year.

Arbor Day Celebration

Highland fourth graders worked along side workers from the City of Stow to celebrate Arbor Day. On Tuesday, April 27, Sue Mottl, City fo Stow landscape arborist, taught the Highland fourth grade students the importance of proper mulching.  She returned on Arbor Day and planted a tree with help from the fourth graders. Councilwoman, Sarah Drew, was in attendance to read the proclaimation. The tree was planted on the east end of the building near the pavillion.
