Welcome to Central Registration 

Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools

Central Registration is located at the Board of Education building, 4350 Allen Road, Stow, OH 44224.  We are conveniently located near Steels Corners Road just two doors down from the Akron General Medical Center.

Hours of Registration:   Student enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year will be conducted by appointment.  Please call our Board of Education central registration office 330.689.5445 to schedule an appointment to enroll your child.  Bring your completed enrollment packet along with your documents for copying. 

In addition to the registration packet, the following documents are required for registration:

  • child's original or certified copy of birth certificate or official passport if not a U.S. citizen
  • immunization records
  • proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, home deed) from your home address (no phone bills please)
  • Driver’s license or other photo i.d. of parent or legal guardian
  • court documents that pertain to custody of the child designating residential parent for education (if applicable)
  • A copy of IEP/ETR from your previous school (if applicable)
  • High School students will need a copy of their transcript and last report card from the previous school attended in order to schedule classes with a counselor.  Please bring your transcript with you when you enroll.  By not having a copy of your transcript, there may be a delay in your start date
  • Students registering for first grade must be age six on or before August 1st.  If you child has not reached this milestone, please click here  for the early entrance packet.

 

A full set of originals (and one copy of each document) is required. Copying of documents along with filling out the registration packet in advance will be time saving to parents.

Original or notarized copy of birth certificates are required for registration. It is not necessary to bring the new student to registration. The registration process should take approximately 15 - 20 minutes if your registration packet is filled out in advance.

Kindergarten Registration

Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools is currently registering for kindergarten for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.  Completion of kindergarten is required for children before entering first grade.  If your child is five years old on or before August 1, 2013, you may register him/her for kindergarten. Students who are not eligible due to age may download and print a packet for early entrance to kindergarten testing (click here to print testing packet).  Please call 330-689-5430 with questions. Packets will be accepted beginning in late April with testing occurring in early June.  Students not age eligible for kindergarten will not be able to register until the testing is completed.

SMFCSD will continue to provide the current half-day kindergarten program as well as the all-day kindergarten program for the 2013-2014 school year. The cost of all-day kindergarten is yet to be determined pending legislation of Governor Kasich. Tuition will be payable on a semester basis. A deposit in the amount of $100.00 is required at time of registration.  If you are unsure of your current home school of attendance, please feel free to contact the Board of Education office at 330.689.5445.

Preschool Learning Guide for Families: Preparing for Kindergarten Success is designed for families of children ages 3 to the start of kindergarten. This brochure provides information as to the meaning of a standards-based education and ways in which families can help their children in reading, mathematics, social studies and science as a preparation for kindergarten. Kindergarten Family Guide

A Standards Guide for Families: Kindergarten is designed to help family members of kindergarten children understand Ohio’s new academic content standards. The information in these guides gives families a sample of some of the things kindergarten children need to know and be able to do in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. Student Withdrawal Form

Parents who wish to withdraw their child(ren) from the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools may contact the school office of their attending building to withdraw their student(s).  Parents may fill out the Student Withdrawal Form in advance and bring along to expedite the process.

Open Enrollment

Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools offers two types of Open Enrollment:

 INTER-DISTRICT Open Enrollment and INTRA-DISTRICT Open Enrollment.  

Applications may be scanned and emailed to st_shaheen@smfcsd.org, mailed to the Board of Education building at 4350 Allen Road, Stow, OH 44224 or sent in to your school office.  Please note applications must include your proof of residency (lease agreement, home deed, utility bill - no phone bills please), a copy of your child's birth certificate and custody agreement (if applicable) designating residential parent for education.  New and renewal student applications will be accepted beginning February 1 until June 1.  Applications received after the June 1 deadline will not be accepted.  For existing students who are moving during the school year, please submit your inter-district open enrollment application at any time during the course of your move, Please write the effective date of your move on your application.
