Mrs. Julie Miller - All County

Indian Trail's Julie Miller Named to 2011 Summit County All-County Teaching Team

Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is pleased to announce Indian Trail Elementary School International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator Mrs. Julie Miller has been named to the 2011 Summit County All-County Teaching Team. Miller will be recognized for her outstanding contributions to education at the Summit County Education Celebration Monday, Oct. 17 at the University of Akron.

Community members including parents, students and peers were given the opportunity to nominate their favorite teacher, and out of those nominations, Miller was selected to the 20-member All-County Teaching Team. The team of teachers will be recognized for their contributions to student education. Each was selected based on the following: history of going above and beyond teaching students, innovative techniques, serving as a leader in the school, admired by their peers and volunteer activities in the school were considered an asset.

“I am very proud of Mrs. Miller for this well-deserved recognition,” said Superintendent Russ Jones. “She is a professional educator who is very well respected by students, parents and colleagues. Julie has joined Principal John Lacoste to implement the IB program which is the pre-eminent educational program in the world. I cannot thank her enough for her commitment to the future of our children.”

During the recognition evening, one teacher will be selected from the All-County Teaching Team as the 2011 Teacher of the Year. A selection committee consisting of representatives from Akron Children’s Hospital, the University of Akron, The Akron Beacon Journal, Akron radio station WKDD and Summit County Educational Service Center will choose the winning teacher.

Submissions can only be made through the school district’s superintendent.
