Principal's Welcome

Dear Kimpton Families~

It is hard to believe that soon we will be stargin the 2017-2018 school year.  In the near future, School Counselors will be finalizing schedules and meeting with families, teachers will begin to spruce up their classrooms, Fall coaches and players will start practice, custodians will finish preparing the building, and secretaries will continue organizing, ordering, and helping everyone begin the new year! We will soon be ready for a fantastic 2017-2108 school year. We are excited to welcome students back to Kimpton on 8/14 for our 8th grade Jump Start, and on 8/15 for our 7th grade Jump Start. On these days, students will receive schedules/ team assignments, they can turn in immunization records, pay fees, and purchase team-t-shirts. Students can also tour the building and become familiar with their classes.  Students will not have school pictures taken on this day (school pictures will be 9/28).  An informational letter will be mailed home in early August with additional details regarding these important first days. Please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns. Thank you!

Open House nights are the first important events of the school year. Seventh grade Open House will take place on Tuesday, August 29th at 6:00-7:30pm. Eighth grade Open House will take place on Thursday, August 31st at 6:00-7:30pm. For each Open House, we will have a brief large group meeting in the auditorium, and they parents will follow their child’s schedule for the remainder of the night. Please bring a copy of you child’s schedule to Open House. Although we always want our students to attend Kimpton events, Open House is truly a parent night—simply due to numbers. I invite all parents to attend, meet the teachers, see the building, and get a feel for your child’s team.

Remember, in an effort to streamline the process and eliminate the need to fill out forms multiple times, all forms are accessible on-line again this year. Important forms can be found on the district web page under the ANNUAL FORMS AND CONSENT PORTAL. Here, you can also sign up to receive the weekly/biweekly Kimpton Update via email.  This is the most effiecient way to stay informed about what is happening at Kimpton!  Please feel free to contact the school if you have questions or concerns regarding this process. Password information will be mailed home.

Please remember to use the district web site, under Kimpton, in order to stay informed about events and important dates. We will update the announcements often in order to help keep you informed. For example, incoming 7th graders are required to have an additional immunization this school year. Details can be found on Kimpton’s web page--along with supply lists, and other important information. Please check it out! You can also follow me on Twitter @Kimpton_SMF in order to keep up the latest news.

Should you ever have additional concerns or questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teachers, school counselors (Mrs. Angely 7th, or Mr. Griffin 8th), the Assistant Principal, Mr. Love, or me—Mrs. Palchesko, Kimpton Principal. It is important that we keep the lines of communication between school and home open in order to ensure student progress and success—together we can!

I am excited to begin my third year as the Kimpton Middle School Principal. We're going to have a great year—GROW!

Mrs. Susan T. Palchesko, Principal
