Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is Now Accepting Nominations for Distinguished Alumni
Recipients will be Recognized in Spring, 2011
STOW, OHIO—June 21, 2010—Stow-Munroe Falls City School District (SMFCSD) is pleased to announce nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Recognition Awards are now being accepted through the end of October. Award categories include academic excellence; career achievement; dedicated service; heroism; and humanitarian efforts. An honorary distinguished alumni award category will also allow for those who are not Stow-Munroe Falls High School (SMFHS) graduates, but who have made significant contributions to the Stow-Munroe Falls school community.
Graduates of SMFHS whose achievements, strength of character and citizenship serve as models to inspire and challenge today’s youth will serve as the foundation for those chosen as Distinguished Alumnus. In order for consideration candidates must have graduated prior to 1995. Consideration will also be based on the significance and overall impact made in each of the respective graduates’ communities and professions.
An independent selection committee comprised of community members will review and select qualified recipients who meet qualifying criteria. Committee members are Valerie Bonacci, Sharlene Chesnes, Dave Close, Cyle Feldman, Karen Fritschel, Dan Gordon, Jacquie Mazziotta and Dave Reinhart.
The first Distinguished Alumni Awards will be presented in the spring of 2011 during a celebration that will recognize inductees.
Applications can be obtained by visiting www.smfschools.org and must be received by October 31, 2010 for consideration.
